Mood And Manner

Health & Mind Club

Updated: Apr 24, 2020

A person’s mood is constantly changing. It is a dynamic concept, which often reflects a person’s mental health. Manners often show how a person conducts himself in the presence of others. Given that often sometimes people reflect a bad mood, it often leads to affect their overall mannerisms. But more than that if someone is in a bad mood, it leads to an effect on the person’s overall mental condition.

We learn from our surroundings the best. How we react to different situations shows the manner in which we operate but also the way in which we do things. Having a positive attitude towards things can greatly help us to rationally think will facing a situation. The mood we are in greatly affects our mental state. If we face situations in a good frame of mind then we become more receptive and often it leads to better outcomes. This improves our overall mental state as it gives us more motivation and satisfaction. But if we are in a bad mood, we become less motivated to do anything and that often leads to a bad outcome which just contributes to our already terrible mood. Since our mood greatly depends on our surroundings it is important to be in a surrounding with people in a good mood. When we are in the company of people who are in a good mood, it becomes fun and enjoyable to stay near them and this makes us more positive and also improves our mood whereas when we are near people who are in a bad mood it becomes a burden to communicate with them. This also ruins our mood and leads us to show a negative attitude. There are many reasons why people are in a bad mood but mostly it has to do in the way they conduct themselves, their manners. Just like our mood can be influenced by others similarly our manners are also influenced by different people. Our manners are affected by our mindset.

Usually, many people when they are enthusiastic about something, they begin to feel motivated and full of energy to do that task. But when they are often in an environment where all the fun and energy has been taken out of the task, they feel they are not in control or when they don’t get any gratification they began to start hating that task. After a while it becomes the manner in which they do the task, and they often look for something else to do not realising that if they do something else, they will just carry over the same way of working.

So we have to understand that in order to improve our mood, we have to better the manner in which we do things. If this doesn’t happen then we will be stuck in a regressive cycle, which will have an overall impact on our mental well being. Our mood, is an outward appearance of our mental state so as we improve our mood, we will automatically become more mentally healthy.

Having good mental health is key to the healthy development and well-being of every child. Children need good mental health - not only to be able to deal with challenges and adapt to change, but so they can feel good about themselves, build healthy relationships with others and enjoy life.

It is said that you must treat your body like a temple and the greatest of pillars have the strongest of bases. If your body is that pillar then your mind is that base. The discourse around mental health in school has exponentially increased and the Health and Mind Club has played a massive role in making that happen. It gives me immense pleasure to be leading the club and encouraging our members to use the club as a catalyst for the mental well being of the school. We strive to stamp out the stigma and provide an all inviting, all accepting platform.

Ask us anything :)

Thanks! We will get back to you very shortly

Mental health is not a destination, but a process. It's about how you drive, not where you're going."
Mental health is equally important as physical health. It includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being, which affects our day to day life.
The aim of the Health & Mind Club is to  ensure that we students have a healthy and positive mindset.
