August editorials:How important is it to believe in yourself?

Health & Mind Club

It is all an undeniable fact - even the hugest of fires on planet Earth require that one tiny piece of matchstick to start it altogether.

What does “belief” really mean to you? Well people have their own definitions but the way I would explain this is – “Being confident enough to feel capable of doing something that may even be against all the given conditions”.

The first step towards victory in my opinion is simply CONFIDENCE. Only when you are a 100% determined and dedicated is when you achieve the first 1% of chances of making it there.

For instance, ask any successful person you know and I can guarantee already – No matter whoever it may be, he or she won't ever say that he was not sure if he would get it through. Because if it was so, he/she would not be there whatsoever.

Belief is one of the strongest forces that we carry within ourselves but there are still so many more of us who are yet to explore this. Sometimes, its just so important to trust and to believe in ourselves because this is what gives us the initial boost to get any sort of task done.

And exactly how do we do this? Here’s your solution:

  • Learn your ABC:Always Be confident.

(This does not mean you should consider everything easy but at least do-able)

  • Exploit all of your positives :This does not mean you forget your negatives; Do work and focus on them as well but completely utilize your positives, it makes you feel more eligible to get anything done.

  • And lastly, even if situations might seem impossible, keep convincing yourself of the fact that you indeed can DO IT and trust me, things will workout their own way.

Coming to an end, all you need to know is to simply “BELIEVE IN YOURSELF - YOU GOT THIS”.

Having good mental health is key to the healthy development and well-being of every child. Children need good mental health - not only to be able to deal with challenges and adapt to change, but so they can feel good about themselves, build healthy relationships with others and enjoy life.

It is said that you must treat your body like a temple and the greatest of pillars have the strongest of bases. If your body is that pillar then your mind is that base. The discourse around mental health in school has exponentially increased and the Health and Mind Club has played a massive role in making that happen. It gives me immense pleasure to be leading the club and encouraging our members to use the club as a catalyst for the mental well being of the school. We strive to stamp out the stigma and provide an all inviting, all accepting platform.

Ask us anything :)

Thanks! We will get back to you very shortly

Mental health is not a destination, but a process. It's about how you drive, not where you're going."
Mental health is equally important as physical health. It includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being, which affects our day to day life.
The aim of the Health & Mind Club is to  ensure that we students have a healthy and positive mindset.
